The University should remove the barrier of disability assessment diagnosis fees for students
Passed: May 2022 (10th)
What do you want? / Why do you want it?
I want the University to remove the barrier of diagnosis assessment fees that they currently expect students to fund in order to get a disability diagnosis. The University currently requires students to go through a costly private assessment service, and claims students can access the Financial hardship fund if they cannot pay for the fee. The financial hardship fund only covers a small number of students, with many students not qualifying for it but also not being able to afford the assessment fee. This means many students have to go without necessary academic disability support throughout their time at University.
