LUU should implement a loyalty scheme within its outlets
Passed: May 2021 (11th)
What do you want? / Why do you want it?
LUU should introduce a loyalty scheme within its outlets that encourages people to spend money within the union and rewards them for doing so, as people spending money in LUU helps fund Union activities.
Any scheme introduced needs to be easy to use and flexible so it can be utilised across all LUU-owned food and drink outlets. At the time of this idea going to forum this includes, Old Bar, Terrace, Scream, Common Ground, Balcony, Pyramid and the venues (Stylus, Pyramid and Function).
The structure of the scheme should be developed with student and staff input as to ensure the most suitable system is implemented that is intuitive both for customers and staff operation.
The idea recognises the current relationship between the Co-op and LUU and that as a franchise operation, an LUU based loyalty scheme cannot be introduced into this LUU owned outlet. However, as a membership scheme already exists within the Co-op ecosystem, an LUU loyalty scheme does not need to include this outlet.

January 2022: LUU is working on getting this rolled out at the start of the new academic year. We are currently laying the groundwork for a loyalty scheme to be put in place, but as the loyalty scheme is linked to the tills, and we are currently seeking a new EPOS provider, we must first get the new till system up and running.
