LUU should facilitate electronic recycling on campus for students

Passed: May 2019 (16th)

What do you want? / Why do you want it?

Every year we each clear out a lot of unneeded electronic gadgets, including those that can be reused and those that cannot. These gadgets can be disposed of at electronic dedicated recycling points, the closest being either at Kirkstall or PC in town, both which are of at last 0.6 miles away and may lead to these wastes being diverted into general black bins for landfill. To avoid this, I propose looking at on-campus electrical waste recycling or feasible alternatives like having a temporary point for transport to the Kirkstall or city centre recycling, which would be worthwhile as long as it increases diversion electrical waste from black or other bins and electronic product recycling.
